Wilkes County convenience centers and dump hours
Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers four convenience centers and the Roaring River Landfill. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.
Convenience centers
- Wilkes County’s four convenience centers take bagged household trash (the everyday trash and food waste of a home) and recycling from Wilkes County homes only: no businesses, no large loads, and no waste from outside the county. Wood, metal, and other cleanout loads go to the landfill in Roaring River. Empty recyclables out of their bags; trash left in the recycling bins or on the ground brings a $250 fine.
