What it takes
It’s the only place in the City of Alexandria that takes brush. The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Center takes some paint, electronics, used motor oil, some batteries, and household hazardous waste.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
City of Alexandria rules
- Alexandria residents can drop off up to 500 pounds of metal, non-metal items, brush, and yard waste once a week, free, at the Reworld waste-to-energy facility on Eisenhower Avenue; show a government ID or utility bill at the scale house. No household trash, tires, electronics, construction debris, or appliances with refrigerant, and no contractors.
- City trash customers get yard waste pickup on trash day: paper yard waste bags or reusable containers, each under 45 pounds. Bulky brush and logs are picked up by request through Alex311.
