What it takes

It’s the only place in Arlington County that takes appliances and some construction debris. The Household Hazardous Materials Facility takes some paint, electronics, used motor oil, some batteries, and household hazardous waste.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Arlington County rules

  • County trash customers can schedule curbside pickup of appliances, metal, and electronics online or at 703-228-5000; appliance pickups and old tube TVs and monitors carry a charge on the quarterly utility bill.
  • The Earth Products Yard takes drop-offs only from Arlington residents with proof of residency, once a month, up to a pickup load or 3 cubic yards. No trash, drywall, shingles, or insulation, and no contractors.
