What it takes
Fairfax County’s other hazardous waste drop-off takes the same items. The I-66 Transfer Station and the I-95 Landfill Complex take tires, appliances, mattresses, brush, construction debris, and used motor oil.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Fairfax County rules
- The I-66 Transfer Station and the I-95 Landfill Complex are for Fairfax County residents, who need proof of residency such as a driver’s license or utility bill. Businesses pay commercial rates, and the hazardous waste and electronics drop-offs take nothing from businesses.
- Trash costs $21 for 1 to 5 bags (32-gallon bags), $28 for 6 to 10, or $10 for 1 or 2 bags from residents 60 and older. Unbagged loads are weighed at $98 a ton, with a $39 minimum. Most recyclables are free.
