What it takes

It’s the only place in Bay County that takes tires, appliances, paint, brush, construction debris, used motor oil, batteries, and household hazardous waste.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Bay County rules

  • Steelfield Road Landfill rates for 2026: $39.35 a ton for household garbage, yard debris, construction debris, and appliances, $5 at least; $20 more for each refrigerated appliance; $5 for an uncovered load. Waste from outside Bay County pays double, $78.70 a ton. Household garbage, furniture, boats, and construction debris go in one area; yard debris, tires, and appliances each go in their own.
  • Bay County holds Waste Amnesty Days in the spring and fall, when the Steelfield Road Landfill waives its fee for residents’ trash, appliances, and trees.
  • The county runs no garbage pickup. Many cities collect their own, and unincorporated Bay County is served by licensed private haulers.
