What it takes

Putnam County’s other convenience center takes the same items.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Putnam County rules

  • Everyone using the Central Landfill or the collection centers needs a driver’s license or photo ID and proof of residency in their own name (a tax bill, a license with the address, a utility bill, or a lease). Commercial loads pay commercial rates, whatever the vehicle. Cash and checks are taken everywhere, cards only at the Central Landfill.
  • The Huntington and Interlachen collection centers take residents’ household garbage free; yard trash and construction debris are $10 a cubic yard for residents and $15 for businesses, $5 at least, with no free allowance there.
  • Each week, the county takes up to 5 gallons each of household hazardous waste, used motor oil, and gas, and 10 fluorescent bulbs.
