City of Norfolk dump hours
This page covers the SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station and two recycling centers. The SPSA Norfolk Transfer Station is run by Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA), not the city. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.
What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more
Before you go
- Furniture, appliances, mattresses, and tires go out by bulk pickup: request it through the MyNorfolk app or site, by email, or at (757) 664-6510 weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., by 3 p.m. the day before your trash day.
Transfer stations
- Norfolk residents with proof of residency get 12 free visits a year to SPSA transfer stations with household waste, in a personal vehicle, a pickup of 1 ton or less, or a trailer up to 12 feet. The Norfolk station takes residents’ trash only on weekends.
