Floyd County convenience centers and dump hours

Northwest Georgia, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers six convenience centers, the Walker Mountain Landfill, and the Rome-Floyd Recycling Center. The Walker Mountain Landfill is run by the City of Rome Solid Waste Processing and Disposal Department, not the county. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Before you go

  • Floyd County Public Works picks up limbs, trunks, and shrubs up to 12 feet long at the road by appointment: free under 3 cubic yards once every 90 days, $100 for 3 to 10 cubic yards, $150 for more. Call 706-236-2495. Not for City of Rome residents.

Convenience centers

  • The six remote sites take household garbage, with compactors and bins for paper, cardboard, cans, and plastic bottles and jugs; an attendant is on duty whenever they’re open. Glass isn’t recycled at the sites or the recycling center.
