Morgan County rules

  • County residents can leave bagged household trash free at the 12 compactor sites, one of them at the transfer station; everything else goes to the transfer station. Leave nothing on the ground, and don’t climb into the dumpsters: the compactors start and stop on their own.
  • Morgan County’s attended recycling center at the transfer station takes broken-down cardboard, glass, #1 and #2 plastics, and aluminum cans. Its other recycling center, on Newborn Road, keeps the same hours and takes cardboard; the county says it’s adding #1 and #2 plastics and glass there.Morgan County’s solid waste page says every compactor site has recycling boxes for cardboard, paper, and aluminum cans; its recycling page says those boxes are being removed, leaving recycling at the two recycling centers.
